Active Backup bluescreen

I occasionally get bluescreen on boot, on my laptop. Mostly “DEVICE_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL”, which indicates driver problem. Sometimes messages may vary, like “SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION” on TKFsAv64.sys.

Whenever this happens, Synology ABB Agent malfunctions; When I launch agent manually, it shows like “Could not upgrade backup service. try reinstalling agent”.

I suspect ABB causes bluescreen on boot, because:

  • The only thing I (re)installed recently was ABB Agent,
  • ABB Recovery media caused bluescreen in the past,
  • Every time when bluescreen occurs, ABB Agent malfunctions, without any exceptions.

Here’s my hardware spec:

  • Windows 10 Pro
  • AMD Ryzen 7 4800H 2.90Ghz
  • 32GB RAM
  • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop GPU
  • Using V3 365 antivirus. (It’s Korean antivirus)

There were no event log, just got “Kernal-power”.

Anyone having same issue?

So the first thing that I would check if I were you would be to make sure that your disk is not going bad. You may also have V3 thinking this is a virus. I would check and see if there is any logs on the antivirus
