I want to get different/larger HDDs to what is on the Synology compatibility list. The trouble is the Seagate drives are limited to just a few models and they also have a slower read/write to other models not on the list.
The largest third party size they support is 12tb…
Can I add any NAS HDD that isn’t on the list and it’ll still work? Ive read the drives will show up with messages in the OS with alerts. Can these be turned off? It seems like a big limitation otherwise to only be able to select from the few drives on the list
