Any thoughts on non ECC RAM? 425+

Hi all, I got the 1525+ (main) and 425+ (backup). in his 925+ review, Will says the 925+ is in between two more interesting models: the 425+ and 1525+.

but I have second thoughts about the 425+. It has only 2GB of (non ECC) RAM and I totally forgot how expensive extra RAM has become. The 925+ is just a hundred more (and has a more powerful CPU and also 4GB RAM!), so I’m contemplating on swapping the 425+ for a 925+

Any thoughts?

No thoughts that made it to a reply here, so I may have misformulated my OP.

Meanwhile a friend who owns an IT company donated a non-ECC Samsung 16GB RAM module, which is recognized and the 425+ now shows a total of 18GB of RAM. So I decided to keep the 425+ and see how she performs.

I’m still interested in your views on non-ECC RAM though :slight_smile:
