I am connected to a remote NAS via an OpenVPN (hosted on the NAS), so that I can map it as a network drive.
I want to mirror that NAS to a second one that is connected to my local network at my workplace (a large institutional organisation).
I’m not certain, if I am on the OpenVPN, if I can also still see IP addresses on my local network, which is what I would need in order to connect to it with hyperdrive or the Synology Drive Client, to manage the synching.
I can’t just test this out, unfortunately, because the local network is managed by my organisation, so I can’t generally ping another IP on the network. I want to ask the IT to allow a connection between the local NAS and my computer, but I want to know if it is feasible before asking them (because the IT dept are difficult to work with at the best of times).
