Drive Client download speeds VERY slow

I am having to be on a jobsite for an extended period of time and my access to the NAS is very important to do my job on a daily basis.

I have synology drive client installed on my computer and while it is great for accessibility, download speeds and upload speeds are terrible. On the same computer and the same environment I am getting 100x the speed downloading files from the Quickconnect webpage. The problem with this is I can not easily download and drag and drop like I can with synology drive on my file explorer.

PLEASE HELP

Hi
I’ve exactly the same problem.

We’re a small company, and have now moved from Dropbox to NAS.
But now my collegeaus are irritated, because the slow download speed.

Is the problem on how the tasks in the Synology Drive Client is set up?

Yes, please any help is appreciated.

If you are using QuickConnect, don’t. The relay servers are throttled.

Ok.
How do I avoid that?

Should I set up the connection in Drive client, and using IP number?
If I enter my local IPO number (192…), will Drive client still work, when working remote?

I have a connection now, can I delete it, and create a new one, targeting the same folders, without losing any data?

Maybe you’ll find this helpful:

I suggest DDNS, VPN, Tailscale (in that order); or alternately Cloudflare tunnels.

ok, I understand. I will go through this during now direct.
Nice with “solution ranking”, thx @NewLeaf .

Just a summary, for my understanding:

  • Direct IP access (192…) when at the office
  • DDNS etc for remote access
  • And Quickconnect, that sounded like so nice solution, just for “emergency”, from any type of device?

What about the costs for the different solutions?
