DS923- Error OSStatus Error 80

I have been attempting to reconnect my NAS to Time Machine:

I can enter the first step when it asks for the account name and password.

Afterward, my Mac asks for the encryption key- once I add it, it gives me the error message " Error OSStatus Error 80," and I can’t sign in.

I tried searching for what Error 80 is, but I had no success.
I can access my backups in my Synology.
I checked Keychain access and don’t know exactly what I’m looking for.

What would be the next step here?

Troubleshooting Methods:

  1. How to access files on Synology NAS within the local network (NFS) - Synology Knowledge Center

  2. Went to KeyChain Access on Mac:

  • Updated the misspelling of the Time Machine Folder

Somehow, this worked - not sure how.

Thanks very much! I also updated to Sonoma (currently on 14.7), and encountered the same error (OSStatus Error 80) when trying to connect to an encrypted Time Machine backup on a Apple Extreme-connected drive. As it turns out, the corresponding password entry (in KeyChain access) was missing the character from the afp path to the drive. Adding this character, and adding a closing quotation mark (which was also cut off) solved the problem. What a bizarre bug!
