DS925+ Price vs. Value

I just priced a DS925+ in a minimal configuration I could use:

1 x Synology DS925+ 4-Bay NAS Enclosure
1 x Synology 4GB DDR4 SO-DIMM ECC Memory Module
2 x Synology 400GB SNV3410 NVMe M.2 2280 SSD
4 x Synology 12TB HAT3310 Plus Series SATA III 3.5" Internal NAS HDD

and the whole thing came to $2550 if you buy all Synology brand accessories. This config has a total of only 8Gb of RAM and 800Gb SSD cache. If you want 16Gb of RAM you’re looking at about $3040. (Both after taxes.) I know you can use approved 3rd party HDDs but can you use generic cache SSDs and generic RAM in the 2025 DSM+ series or will it stop you from installing DSM?

Synology’s drive compatibility policy

I bought generic RAM (Kingston Server Premier) when I setup my DS923+ and so far I am having no problems. But when it comes to RAM in the DS925+ what’s the deal? I thought I heard something about only “official Synology RAM” can be used.
