DX517 File Transfer to Re-Raid DS1522+

Hi all! I just got he DX517 as I needed to expand my DS1522+. I over-committed Hard Drives to the 1522+ and now I’m need to basically transfer everything to the DX517, so that I can erase and remove a drive from the 1522+.

Let me know if this is the best way to do it:

  1. Create a Storage Pool on DX517 (Storage Pool 2, Volume 2, Only HDDs in DX517 are in the Storage Pool)
  2. Create Shared Folder on SP2/V2
  3. Transfer from DS1522+ (Storage Pool 1, Volume 1)
  4. Erase Storage Pool 1/Volume 1 so that I can remove one of the Hard Drives
  5. Re-Create Storage Pool 1/Volume 1
  6. Retransfer Files from SP2V2 back to SP1V1

Will I still be able to see SP2V2 after I erase SP1V1? This is my fear that it wont and that I lose everything?
