Enable Jumbo Frames on Ubiquiti Flex XG 10GbE - Mac OS 12.7

Hey SpaceRex’ers,

wondering if anyone can give me some tips on getting a Jumbo Frames setup with my Synology 1821 +, Ubiquiti Flex 10 XG Gbe switch and mac video editing workstations…

I’ve set the synology and the mac to work with MTU 9000 - but as soon as that happens my volumes fail to mount…

I guess the Ubiquiti switch also needs setting to jumbo frames but I’ve been told by their support team that this isn’t possible without purchasing the additional UniFi Cloud Gateway hardware…?

Does anyone else have this issue?

Just have to say… Jumbo frames are largely irrelevant today. Unless you have significantly underpowered devices or serious bottlenecks, you should not see an improvement using jumbo frames. Additionally, jumbo frames can cause many issues if not set up correctly. Good luck.

I thought jumbo frames were still relevant for video editing?
