Is this normal for Hyper Backup?

Hi all,
I recently upgraded my old DS213J NAS to a DS923+. I also maxed out the RAM to 32G and added a read/write SSD cache as well. It’s running the latest DSM 7.2 and I have 2 brand new Synology 8T HDDs installed.

When I run Hyper Backup, to backup the NAS to a new WD USB drive, it takes hours to complete (like over 8). I expected that for the first backup, but I thought the subsequent ones would go a lot faster. I only have just over 1TB of data to backup. A good portion of that is comprised of photos and .flac music. Not sure if the type of data being backed up really matters or not either.

I also use Active Backup for Business on my Windows PC and that finishes very quickly (even the first one only took about 1 1/2 hours).

I’ve also tried using my old NAS with Hyper Backup Vault as the backup destination, but that seemed even slower. Does this sound familiar to anyone, or is this amount of time not normal? I don’t really have a frame of reference to know how long I should expect it to take. Thanks!
