Mac finder do not recognize my password from fresh install

hello, i’ve just install my first and new Synology from web assistant. Once I try to connect to mac finder, the login and password are not recognized. impossible to see anything on the mac. I’ve done a hard reset, re-installed step by step following space rex youtube vidéo = same situation. thanks for your help. Hervé

Step 1: are you able to log in to the DSM desktop from your browser?

Hello Paul, yes from mac and iPad browser all is ok to join DSM desktop. But from the mac network (and iPad) impossible to login. May be due to parameter on my mac & iPad???) thanks

update: on my phone I’m able to connect to “DS file” by the folder (IP address + password and login). But still impossible to connect to sinology “photo” or “drive” app with my phone or mac.

Can you elaborate on the steps you take to connect from your Mac to a shared folder on your NAS?

Hello Paul, on the mac: open finder, I see mac HD and below “network (réseau in french)”, clicking on network, the synology appears, once I clic, on it, a small box on the top of the window “connect as…”, click on it dialog box “you are tenting to connect to the Synology server, clic to continue”, new dialog box “login to connect to server as reference user” then name and password. the issue is the login and password used to connect to DSM is not recognize to login to the mac network. login on the mac in refused…

PS: on the iPad and iPhone after installing “drive” and “DS file app” I’ve managed to connect the synology file “Drive” on the " iPad File" by adding the IP address in the login as it’s seems to be an option. login in now ok on the “file” iPad only

resolved, Synology does not accept letters with characters such as é or è present in the French language on Mac. while on iPhone no problem. this kind of tip should be mentioned by default by Synology.

I find this very disappointing because it took me quite a while before understanding the problem.

Synology 0/5 as a first experience.

This is odd. Should you prevent those characters in the user name or the password?
