I am replacing my DS420+ with a DS923+. The DS420+ has 2x3TB and 2X12TB HDD. With the new DS923+ I plan to replace the 2x3TB with 2x12TB, with a total of 4x12TB HDD. Regarding the migration: I just finished Will’s video about migration, I plan to do the HDD migration and add all the HDD from DS420+ to the DS923+. After the migration then replace the 2x3TB with the 2x12TB HDD that give the DS923+ the final configuration of 4x12TB. Is this a reasonable plan?
That’s an excellent plan. Replace the disks one by one, letting the NAS rebuild in between.
