With all your help. I have a great home network for me, my wife on the other hand is having an issue with the nas. She always seems to have to reboot her Mac to get the Nas to connect properly. In finder it shows up but all the files are empty we both have exactly the same computer. But for the life of f me I can’t find a setting that might fix this issue.
Not sure if this is it but I find si ce some recent updates any shortcuts will not work until I manually navigate to the folder once. After that shortcuts (like those you keep on the left in finder) work fine.
I would try to login to the NAS on the wife’s computer using your ID/Password and see if that makes a difference, Incidentally I have been a long time user of Volume Manager from PlumAmazing. Worth every cent!
Yes, this issue is typically caused by stale SMB mount points or macOS power-nap settings that disconnect the Synology NAS during sleep. To fix it, you should disable “Wake for network access” in System Settings and use an Automator script to force-mount the NAS using the smb:// protocol at login.
