I have recently uploaded my movies to my Synology NAS, and am now ready to start up PLEX.
The documentation says the PlexMediaServer account needs R/W access to any shared folders containing movies and TV shows I want to browse on Plex. Why?
It seems the Plex app should just be serving up movies (which are owned by my admin account, not the Plex account), and not “updating” them. What if a glitch in the app starts deleting movies? I’ve spent hundreds of hours uploading content, and don’t want to risk losing it.
