Seagate 8TB SkyHawk AI compatibility with RS1221+

The Synology website does not list the 8TB SkyHawk AI as a compatible drive, but others from AI range are.

Will this drive be compatible as per the others in the range, or will I see an error? If I will see an error, would you get one of the listed drives instead? For context, I am a home/home business user looking to set up some POE cameras with Surveillance Station on this particular drive.

So as long as the drives are not on the ‘incompatible’ drive list here you should be totally fine. The RS1221+ does not have strict rules on what drives you can use. It will give a short warning when you build the volume, but never again.
