"Site Can't Be Reached" - Direct Connection Issue

Hello all,

I have a CAT6a cable connected from my Synology 1522+ NAS that has 10GBe to my Unifi Flex XG switch, and another cable from switch to my 10GBe ethernet adapter that’s attached to my mac. I also have a cable connecting from my router to 1GBe Unifi Flex XG switch port. I can see from my Unifi Server Manager that the 10GBe is working. Although, when I try to access my NAS, it won’t connect. It’s giving me “Site Can’t Be Reached”. I thought having an internet connection from router via switch would be enough but do I still need another connection? When I connect another cable from the NAS 1GBe port to the router, it works. I’m trying to avoid adding that last connection since I want to move my NAS to my office and I’m trying to connect as less ethernet cables as possible. Would love any advice I could get. Thank you!

Any additional cable, as in your situation, should not be necessary to connect to the NAS. I suggest to create a drawing or map of your network, with wiring and IP addresses. Maybe that gives any insight.

You could install and use the Synology Assistant application on your computer to help you with that.
