Hi guys, I have a question. I watched SpaceRex video on SMB multichannel. I’m wondering if it is possible instead of having two cables going to the computer to only have one if I have a 2.5gb Switch any help on this greatly appreciated.

Network speed is limited to the slowest link in the chain, presumably the NIC on the NAS. Connecting a single NIC to the router will be limited to whatever that NIC will handle. SMB multichannel gets it’s speed boost by distributing the traffic over multiple NICs. If you don’t use 2 cables, you won’t get traffic distribution.
I asked on some other forums and they say that if you have a 2.5 GbE switch then it will work but not if you have a 10 GbE switch I know that I have to have two cables going from the nas to the switch. The only thing that I want is from the switch to the Mac, I only want to use one cable.
