I have 2 Synology NAS’s. I’ve been putting all my files on a DS418 for a few years and using Snapshot Replication to copy all the important data to a DS220+. I’m planing to move DS418 off site now and want to switch the DS220+ to be the primary. How can I switch the rolls without having to replicate all the data back the other way?
I’m figured out that I can stop the old replication; rename the destination directory on the DS220+; then do a copy of the replicated data to another directory (it only takes a few min. I think it is just doing some links at the filesystem level). At this point I can setup the Snapshot Replication back the other direction but it would then copy all the data back to the DS418. I would like to avoid this. Does anyone have any suggestions?
