Synology Drive with LOTS of files

Hi all,

I’ve seen in one of SpaceRex’s videos a comment on Synology Drive that is should not be used for a very large number of files. I also googled it and found a couple of topics on other forums regarding the issue, some said that it should not be used for syncing more than 500,000 files, but they were a few years back.

Is there any newer official information on the subject? Is there a hardware limitation? Or is it a suggestion so that the network isn’t working all the time trying to sync all the files?

I’m thinking of syncing some of my work folders with Synology Drive, but some projects have A LOT of very small files (a few kb each), so the total number is way above 1mil. Would a have any issues syncing such large folders?

Thanks in advance

Certainly not a video on par with SpaceRex’s content, but I did come across this the other day… How to fix sync issues…

I recently set up Synology Drive for the first time as I transition from a large DropBox account, but I plan to try and simplify things, so I’m not adding all my stuff to Synology Drive, just the most commonly accessed files that I may need when I’m not directly connected to my network.
