You carefully set me up for optimized PremerePro performance. Honestly, since then and since I optimized a few more minor things, my performance has been invisible to me - in other words, I don’t think about performance because I don’t notice any issues.
My partner has a duplicate MAC-PRO 2019 96gigRAM system (and duplicate settings) and shares projects on the Synology (1821+ with 10gib card) NAS with me. She’s a dedicated After Effects animator and yet she says she feels it feels considerably slower. I think she may be right. It does seem like she should get better RAM preview performance than she is getting.
Wondering if an AE system needs to be set up differently or if AE running off a NAS just isn’t a good idea because of the way it handles building media rather than playing back the way PP does.
