I apologize in advance, I am not a power user just a home user with a NAS so I don’t know all of the tech terminology.
Will setup my home NAS for me last yer and it has worked perfectly since then. All of a sudden I noticed I couldn’t connect to it via quick connect. I fiddled and found another way and connected. Anyway, I noticed that QuickConnect is no longer checked as an option in the network control panel. When I try to turn it on I am asked to connect to my Synology Account. I have connected using the Secure SignIn app on my iPhone and via the web page. Yet Under DSM>External Access>QuickConnect it says I am not logged in.
I have gone through the Synology online help and ended up with a headache instead of answers.
Go back to your NAS Quickconnect page. Then open another browser tab and log into your Synology Account and look up what your Quickconncet ID is for the NAS. Then check the “Enable” Quickconnect box and type in your Quickconnect ID in the box to the right and then click “Apply.” Go to the Router Configuration tab to see if the NAS has created a port forwarding rule for the Quickconnect port (TCP 6690). If you see it then click the “Test Connection” button to see if the connection is OK. If it’s OK try out your Quickconnect again. Let us know if your NAS accepts the changes and if you have Quickconnect. If not post screenshots of the Quickconnect and Router Configuration tabs. Try to zoom in more so we can better read it.
As the error message states, please check your network settings. Some DNS servers do not adequately resolve QuickConnect addresses. Enter manual DNS server IP addresses in your network settings. IP addresses 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 are DNS servers that work well with QuickConnect.
Thanks to both of you for your advice. To clarify, The quick connect ID I am using is correct. It has always worked until it didn’t and I do not mess with those settings. For some unknown reason that option got deactivated in DSM.
I have attached some screenshots. I did not take screenshots of the Control Panel>Network>Traffic Control and Static Route screens as they are empty. The shot showing the External Access>Router Config error message is probably the issue. That is why I included the Network panel screenshots. Dunno how settings got messed up because, as I said, I don’t ever mess with them.
Ugg seems I can only upload 1 screenshot to a post. Will post in separate posts.
The router configuration is not the issue. It is a result of a failed network connection. Your LAN1 and LAN2 both show an APIPA address. Does not matter what that APIPA means (you can Google it) but it means that you do not get a local network IP address from your router and you can not access the Internet.
Break the bonding, test with a single LAN connection first, and take it from there. You should get a 192.168.x.x IP address on your LAN port.
Problem solved. I just updates to DSM 7.2.2-72806 and now the LAN1 and 2 connections are correct. Don’t know if just restarting the NAS fixed the issue or the update did but in any case Quickconnect was enabled after the update and restart.
