Unable to connect my NAS via "find.synology.com"

Hello everyone,

I’m a newbie to NAS and recently bought my first Synology which I had already set up and which was running smoothly. After 6 months of being abroad I wanted to re-active it.

Now I am a bit desperate - trying to re-connect my Synology DS916+ and my MacBook Air M1 2020. Both are connected with an ethernet cable and I can access my DS and it’s folders through the Mac Finder. Unfortunately I can’t access it through my browser (I tried both: find.synology.com and Synology-Assistant App) and followed all instructions but it won’t appear on the list. I’m irritated it works in the OS finder but not through the browser.

I’m looking forward for any help and recommendations.

Thanks very much in advance and a huge shoutout to Will for creating this platform and sharing his knowledge with us. :slightly_smiling_face:

Cheers
Jannis

The most likely cause is that you turned off this feature for security purposes.

I know I do that after the NAS has been set up but I don’t recall where it is in the menu off the top of my head, but some googling should work.

You should be able to look into your network settings and find the IP address there. I set a fixed IP so that it always appears in the same location.

Thanks very much! Will look closer into that
