I would like to upgrade the network card on my DS1517+. I would like to add a 2.5Gb card. I know Synology has a compatibility list for cards but was wondering if anyone has had any luck using a network card not on the list. Thanks for any feedback.
So In general most cards should just work. Synology is just Linux and so if the card works with the Current linux kernel synology is using, it probably will work.
However I would probably look around a bit to find cards people have tested and gotten working and just use that.
