Working on building out more content for setting up NAS a video editing! Added a video today on the channel:

I would like to know which file system is best for video editing BTRFS or ext4. I’d love your thoughts on two things:

  1. I’ve read of performance hits with BTRFS (but have never seen this quantified with data/experience) although know you don’t get the extras like snapshots etc with ext4. Which is the best performing file system and/or is less risky when editing on a NAS (over 10GbE)?
  2. Aside from the mixed drive use capability which would you recommend RAID 5 or SHR?
