What to do about temp folders created by MS Office Documents

Using the NAS via mounted network drive Office is creating these folders (ie document.docx.sb-12345678-ABCD-4321-DCBA-87654321)
From what I was able to determine word (office apps) create these temporary folders, but they don’t seem to disappear.
What is the best way to handle these? do I leave them?, delete them? I asked Chat GPT, and it suggested using a script to delete these
