I am new to Synology NAS (DS1821+ on Mac) and trying to migrate from Dropbox to Synology Drive. I have a couple of questions, which I would be grateful to have your insights on. I have an IT admin but I am the only user of this NAS.

should I sync the home directory and work from there on my files (coding, writing, data analysis, etc) or is it better to sync the shared folder and do the work from there (I sense that the shared folder is best for multiple purposes, even for storing huge data?)

based on the directory that I will be working from on Synology Drive, I also want to add the entire synced Dropbox folder to this folder but keep it offline/on-demand (so that I can see my old Dropbox files if I need to). Appreciate hearing your best practices regarding this.
